Harvir Singh is a senior journalist and editor with more than three decades of experience in journalism, specializing in agriculture, the rural economy, public policy, politics, and economic affairs. He is the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of RuralVoice.in, an independent media platform focused on agriculture, food systems, rural development, and issues concerning India’s farming communities.

Before founding Rural Voice in 2020, he held senior editorial positions at several leading Indian media organizations. He served as Editor of Outlook Hindi and played a key role in building Money Bhaskar, the business and economy digital platform of the Dainik Bhaskar Group. He has also worked with prominent publications, including Amar Ujala and Hindustan, in editorial capacities ranging from correspondent to senior editor.

Harvir Singh is widely respected for his expertise in agriculture, rural development, and economic issues affecting farmers and rural livelihoods. As a commentator and public speaker, he regularly contributes to discussions on agriculture policy, rural transformation, and developmental issues across media platforms.

In recognition of his contribution to agricultural journalism, Harvir Singh has received several honours, including the World Food Day Award from the Food and Agriculture Organization in 2001 and the Chaudhary Charan Singh Award for Excellence in Journalism from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research in 2002. He was also felicitated by the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences and received the Chaudhary Charan Singh Award from Kisan Trust in 2025 for his contribution to agricultural journalism.

S.K. Singh is a senior journalist and Consulting Editor at RuralVoice.in, with extensive experience of nearly 35 years in journalism and editorial leadership. He has closely tracked developments in agriculture, rural affairs, public policy, governance, and socio-economic issues, with a strong focus on issues affecting farmers and rural communities in India.

Over the course of his career, S.K. Singh has worked across multiple media platforms and contributed to reporting and analysis on agriculture, rural development, and policy-related matters. Known for his deep understanding of ground realities and policy perspectives, he has consistently highlighted challenges and opportunities in India’s rural economy.

At RuralVoice.in, he contributes to strengthening the platform’s editorial vision through insightful analysis, policy discussions, and coverage of key developments in the agriculture and rural sectors.

Ajeet Singh, Executive Editor of RuralVoice.in, is known for his reporting on agriculture, farmers’ issues, rural development, and environmental challenges in India. With a strong focus on ground realities, he has consistently highlighted concerns related to the agricultural crisis, farmers’ livelihoods, climate impacts, and government policies affecting farmers. Through his reporting and digital presence, Ajeet Singh continues to amplify the voices of rural communities and promote informed discussions on agriculture and sustainability.

As a professional journalist, he has served in editorial positions at media organizations such as Outlook, Down To Earth, Amar Ujala, and Dainik Bhaskar. Coming from a farming family in Haridwar, he remains deeply connected to his rural roots and committed to highlighting farmers’ concerns in the media landscape. He holds graduate degrees in Geography and Economics, along with a Master’s degree in Linguistics.




Editorial Advisory Board

T. Nanda Kumar is a former IAS officer and distinguished policymaker with extensive experience in agriculture, food security, rural development, cooperatives, and disaster management. Over a long and accomplished career in public service, he has held several key leadership positions in the Government of India and international organizations.

He served as Chairman of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) from March 2014 to August 2016. In addition to leading NDDB, he chaired the Boards of Mother Dairy Fruits & Vegetables Ltd, Indian Immunologicals Ltd, and IDMC Ltd, where he introduced process and product innovations while ensuring accountability and transparency in line with the Companies Act.

Earlier, he served as Secretary to the Government of India in the Department of Agriculture & Cooperation (2008–2010) and the Department of Food & Public Distribution (2006–2008). He also made significant contributions to disaster management policy by drafting the 12th Plan document for Disaster Management, the National Disaster Management Plan, and a model framework for District Disaster Management Plans.

T. Nanda Kumar also served as Development Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary of Jharkhand (2005–2006) and as Secretary General and Chief Executive of the International Jute Study Group under UNCTAD (2002–2005).

Nanda Kumar completed a master’s degree in physics before joining the Indian Administrative Service. He has written numerous articles on policy matters in leading newspapers and continues to advise state governments on development and governance.

Dr. Biswajit Dhar

Professor Biswajit Dhar is a Distinguished Professor, Council for Social Development, New Delhi. He was a Professor at the Centre for Economic Studies and Planning in Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and has served as the Director General of the Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS), a think-tank of the Ministry of External Affairs. Professor Dhar was instrumental in the establishment of the Centre for WTO Studies of the Government of India and was the Head of the Centre for several years. He had also served as a Senior Consultant in the Planning Commission.

Professor Dhar has served as a member of the Indian delegation in multilateral treaty negotiations, including the World Trade Organization, the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, the World Intellectual Property Organization, and the Convention on Biological Diversity.

Professor Dhar has been interacting closely with several inter-governmental organisations. He has been a consultant to the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, the United Nations Development Programme, the International Labour Organization, the World Health Organization, and the South Centre, among others. He has presented research papers in several international and national conferences and has publications in reputed national and international journals. He is a regular columnist in several national dailies.

Professor Dhar has served on the Board of Directors of the Export-Import Bank of India and was a Member of the Board of Trade, Government of India. He serves as an Adviser to the Asia-Pacific Research and Training Network on Trade of the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific and is on the Board of the Inter-University Centre for IPR Studies of the Government of Kerala.

Dr Dina Nath Thakur has extensive experience in the fields of agriculture, rural credit, and cooperatives. He holds a master’s degree in Economics from the Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics, Pune, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar. He is currently associated with several national-level cooperative institutions in advisory capacities and also serves as Advisor (Agriculture) to the Millennial India International Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture (MIICCIA). He is a former national president and Chief Patron of Sahakar Bharati.

He served as Deputy Managing Director of the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) from January 2015 to January 2019. During this period, he also concurrently held the position of Director General of the Laxmanrao Inamdar National Academy for Cooperative Research and Development (LINAC), Gurugram. He represented NCDC on the Boards of Directors of the National Cooperative Consumers’ Federation of India (NCCF) and the Indian Farm Forestry Development Cooperative Ltd (IFFDC). He was also elected Chairman of the Agricultural and Food Marketing Association for Asia and the Pacific (AFMA), Bangkok, Thailand, for the 2016–2018 term.

Before joining NCDC, Dr Thakur worked with the Government of India in the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare in various capacities, including Assistant Commissioner, Deputy Director, and Director. His key areas of work included agricultural credit and cooperative development. He has also provided advisory services to several national and international organizations working in the areas of rural credit and cooperatives.
